This Ice Cream Cake is such an easy dessert that everyone loves! We make it every summer and it is always a hit. You simply layer ice cream sandwiches, hot fudge and whipped cream plus some candy if you would like! If using candy, keep in mind that it will be frozen when you eat it. We usually make it with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups since they stay soft. I have tried using Snickers (my dad's favorite), but it was too hard to eat. The great thing about this dessert is that you can make it in a 9" by 13" pan which makes a lot or you can do a smaller square pan, depending on how many people you are making it for. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
(I am giving the amounts needed for a 9" by 13" pan)
- 24 Ice Cream Sandwiches
- 2 Jars Hot fudge
- 1- 16oz tub of Cool Whip
- 10 packages of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Directions:
- If using candy, cut up the candy into smaller pieces.
- Layer the ice cream sandwiches in the bottom of the pan. Make sure there is no extra space.
- Microwave the hot fudge and pour it over the ice cream sandwiches. Spread it evenly throughout the pan.
- Scoop enough Cool Whip to cover the hot fudge and ice cream sandwiches and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle candy over the cool whip.
- Repeat steps 2-5 for the next layer.
- Place in the freezer until ready to serve!
*You have to work quickly so that the ice cream doesn't completely melt. It may be best to have two people making this treat*
